There were a lot of disappointed faces around Barton Orchards after it became apparent that the launches were not going to take place.
Some people, those from the area, can come back to try to see a launch Saturday or Sunday. But some came from hours away to see the mass launch, and won't be able to make it back.
Still, Barton Orchards had plenty of activities going on - including fireworks after dusk, inflatables, live music from the band FDR Drive, gourmet food trucks, a petting zoo and lots more around the sprawling grounds - that kept families busy and happy.
Social media sites showed some mixed public feelings about the festival being changed from the shores of the Hudson in Poughkeepsie, where many watched the launches from Walkway Over the Hudson State Park, to Barton Orchards. But most people DV spoke with seemed fine with the change, noting the family-friendly atmosphere at the orchard.
